Giants in Asia
We continue our assault on the international Rainbow Six: Siege scene. Vodafone Giants have closed the signing of the roster that previously represented Aerowolf, the best R6 team in South East Asia.
Next week, in the second round of the Pro League Season XI, Glen «Lunarmetal» Suryasaputra, Adrian «Ysaera» Wui, Jordan «Jrdn» Cheng, Mohamed Matin «SpeakEasy» Mohamed Yunos and Jose «Histoire» Iman will already compete under the name of Vodafone Giants.
The last performance of the Asian team in an international scenario was in the finals of the Pro League in Tokoname (Japan), where they reached the semifinals after showing a great level against the best teams in the world, among which was Vodafone Giants. Before this, they won the Asia Pacific Pro League, defeating Wildcard Gaming in the final.
The quintet led by «Lunarmetal» is positioned as the reference team in Southeast Asia, a team that aspires to repeat in the international scene the domination showed in its region. This is one of the key reasons why this team has been signed, according to David ‘Lozark’ Alonso, esports director of Vodafone Giants.
«The addition of these five players is in line with our goal to continue being part of the Rainbow Six Siege international community,» said Lozark, who also highlighted «the skill and dedication of the group”. «It’s impressive and they’ve already shown it in Tokoname. Now, we will achieve more ambitious goals,» he says.
Looking ahead to the new year, Vodafone Giants’ esports director is optimistic: «2020 is a very interesting season and our goal is to continue to fight for everything at Rainbow Six Siege”.
These five new players will coexist with the Spanish R6 team, which has yet to be revealed and will compete in the national league.
